Certified Altec Pre-Owned Truck Program

**Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles must fall below the maximum age and mileage requirements. Please contact your Altec NUECO Account Manager for details.**

There are new Altec vehicles and there are used Altec vehicles.  Standing in a class of its own is the Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle.

Below are the means by which a selected vehicle is able to earn the title of Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle:

  • Certification Standards - In order to satisfy the exacting standards of the Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle program, a selected vehicle is subjected to extensive examinations by Altec-trained Expert Technicians to assure dependability, quality and customer trust.
  • Inspection - Every detail is inspected by Altec-trained Expert Technicians
  • Chassis Inspection – The chassis is meticulously examined and a Chassis Condition Report is filled out. This is done to ensure that chassis components meet the set level of quality and are in working order. Any that do not are repaired or replaced.
  • DOT Certified – The inspection is conducted as certified DOT mechanical inspector and meet requirements specified by Federal or State DOT requirements. This includes a DOT-Certified Sticker and one-page report filled out and performed by a Certified DOT mechanic. Any component not meeting current DOT standards is repaired or replaced. Then next step is hands on testing.
  • Drive Test – A road test is performed as the final check and as a stamp of approval that the chassis meets the required level of quality, performance and safety.
  • Engine Analysis – Technicians perform a mechanical inspection and diagnosis of the engine.
  • Oil Sample – An engine oil analysis is performed to catch the presence of any possible contamination.
  • Computer/ECM Data – The Electronic Control Module (ECM) or computer is the electronic ‘brains’ of the power system.  A computerized system analysis is done to check on operating conditions and power requirements of the engine.
  • Hydraulic Inspection
  • 88-Point Inspection on Bucket Trucks – This checklist is strictly adhered to in order to determine if the Aerial Device meets the Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle qualifications or if repairs and/or replacement parts are needed.  It must subsequently satisfy all Altec standards or be excluded from the program.
  • 110-Point Inspection on Digger Derricks – This checklist is strictly adhered to in order to determine if the Digger Derrick meets the Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle qualifications or if repairs and/or replacement parts are needed.  It must subsequently satisfy all Altec standards or be excluded from the program.
  • Dielectric Tested – This test verifies the electrical insulating strength in the fiberglass insulated section of insulated aerial devices.  It is tested up to 100KV as specified by ANSI standards.
  • Altec-Trained Expert Technicians – All Technicians are trained by Altec per their stringent requirements.
  • Chassis & Unit Detailed – The chassis and the entire unit are detailed to bring it to a like-new condition.
  • 30-Day Warranty – A warrant of 30 days is provided with the purchase of each Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle and is administered by NUECO C.S.R.
  • Special Financing Programs – The strict certification standards effectively remove the normal risks common with the financing of pre-owned vehicles.  This allows us to offer unique rates and terms for the purchase of an Altec Certified Pre-Owned Vehicle.
